Join us for an interactive and informative day at the University of Oklahoma, designed specifically for high school students with intellectual disabilities and their families. Discover how the Sooner Works program provides a fully integrated college experience, equipping students with academic enrichment, career development, independent living skills, and campus engagement.

Please Note: This event is designed for students who meet the following eligibility criteria:

Have a documented intellectual disability (ID) as defined by the American Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (AAIDD).
Will be between the ages of 18-26 at the start of the program.
Be independent in handling medication, dietary, and other personal needs, as Sooner Works staff cannot manage these responsibilities.
Have sufficient emotional and independent stability to participate in all aspects of Sooner Works, including attending 90-minute academic courses and functioning independently in campus settings.
Demonstrate a desire to complete the Sooner Works program and adhere to program policies regarding attendance, participation, and conduct.

If you or your student meets these criteria, we encourage you to join us for this informative day. If you are unsure whether your student is a good fit for Sooner Works, please contact soonerworks@ou.edu before registering.

Event Highlights:

Informational Presentation: Learn about Sooner Works, our admissions process, scholarships, and comprehensive student support.

Campus Tour: Experience OU firsthand with a guided tour of key academic and social spaces.

Optional Lunch: Participants are welcome to join us for lunch in the campus dining hall at their own cost.

Meet and Greet: Engage with faculty, staff, and students to gain insight into life at OU.

Q&A Session: Get your questions answered by our knowledgeable program staff.

This is your chance to explore campus, meet future classmates, and get a feel for college life! We look forward to welcoming you to the Sooner Works family.

Therefore, without reservation or limitations, I, in my own behalf and on behalf of the Minor, hereby assign, transfer and grant to The University of Oklahoma, its successors, assignees, licensees, sponsors, any television networks, and all other commercial exhibitors the exclusive right to photograph and/or videotape the Minor and to utilize such videotapes and photographs and Minors name, face likeness, voice and appearance as a part of the Event, in advertising and promoting the Event or in advertising and promoting similar future events at no charge.
