One of the best ways to experience the Sooner family and to learn about all that OU will offer you is to visit our beautiful campus in Norman, Oklahoma! Guests planning to tour OU’s campus must register online in advance of the tour in order to guarantee a spot on the tour.

You can also experience campus virtually. We encourage you to attend a virtual information session with an OU Admissions Counselor. In this session, you'll learn about the admissions process and hear about all that the University of Oklahoma has to offer.
You can also explore OU through our virtual resources, including a live student guided or self-guided virtual tour, 1:1 phone or video meetings with your admissions counselor, our social media accounts, and more.

We will do our best to accommodate all guests, however, our campus tours may reach capacity. We encourage you to schedule your tour as soon possible to ensure you have a spot that fits your schedule.

Our campus tours will have a strict capacity limit and often fill a few weeks in advance. We will not be accepting walk-ins at this time. If you need assistance, please contact us at (405) 325-2151 or tour@ou.edu.

If there is no availability on the day that initially worked best for your schedule, we have a few alternative options for you to consider:

Schedule a tour for a date that is available! You can come another time to campus when we are able to best accommodate you to ensure you have the most quality experience. Register for an available OU campus tour here.
Try a virtual guided tour! The same experience – with no travel and less walking! Our virtual guided campus tours are led LIVE by current OU student tour guides and only last about one hour. Register for a virtual student guided tour here.
Attend a virtual information session! Learn more about OU by connecting with OU Admissions staff members or by registering for a specific academic college virtual information session to get more in-depth information about your academic areas of interest. Still planning to be in Norman, OK? If you will still be on-campus on the day you would like to tour, you can stop by our Visitor’s Center between 8 AM – 5 PM, Monday-Friday to ask questions and receive OU information. You can also grab a campus map and self-guided tour handout to explore campus at your own pace! Even if you show up outside of office hours, you can grab these materials in a black box outside the front of the OU Visitor’s Center – Jacobson Hall.

Driving Directions:

From I-35, take the Main St./Eastbound exit
On Main St., continue approximately 2 miles to University Blvd. Turn RIGHT
Continue on University Blvd. until you cross Boyd Street and enter between the brick arches of Parrington Oval. The Visitor Center/Jacobson Hall is all the way around on the other side of the oval (facing Boyd St.)

Where can I park?

Visitor parking is available on the Parrington Oval and is designated with a green 'visitor' curb (parking along white or blue curbs will result in fine from Parking Services). Additional parking is available in the visitor lot west of the Boyd House on Boyd Street and in the commuter lot behind Boyd House off University Blvd (3rd driveway on the left as you are driving North on University Blvd). All spaces require a parking permit which is valid for the entire day. Visitors are expected and required to abide by properly signed or marked parking restrictions.

Where can I NOT park?

Visitor Permits are NOT valid in the following areas:

White Curbed areas in the North (Parrington) Oval
Service vehicle areas south of Lindsey Street.
Service vehicle areas north of Lindsey Street prior to 5 p.m.
Any "No Parking" area.
Reserved areas.

If guests park in a restricted space, they will be subject to parking fines or citations.

After you register online for your campus tour, you will receive a confirmation email as well as reminder emails with a link to your personalized parking pass leading up to your campus visit.

Print this parking pass before your visit and display it on your dashboard when you come to campus.

If you forget your parking permit, we will be able to provide one for you at the front desk of Jacobson Hall when you check in for your tour.

OU Parking Services hopes you enjoy your visit and experience, as certain spaces and areas in campus parking facilities are designated for use by visitors.

These areas have been located for maximum visitor convenience and are clearly identified by signage. Please click on this map for specific locations.
Visitor permits are valid for a single visit. Permits are available online, or from OU Parking Services, 1332 Jenkins Ave., inside the Jenkins Avenue Parking Facility.

Pay stations also make it easier than ever to park on campus. Pay stations are located in both Asp and Elm garages and in the lot on Boyd Street across from Fred Jones Art Museum. Please call OU Parking Services at (405) 325-3311 for more information and to request a visitor permit be sent by mail.

Students are welcome to bring guests with them on a tour. At this time, students can only bring two guests with them for our campus tour in order for us to accommodate more students on our campus tours. Please add the guest into your registration when you register for a campus tour. That will help us adjust our maximum capacity accordingly. Prospective students are encouraged to register individually for campus tours.

Your campus tour experience will last approximately 2.5 hours. Once you arrive on campus, an OU staff member will give a brief admissions presentation followed by a walking tour (3 miles) of campus given by an OU student tour guide. Comfy shoes are encouraged! Please also check the weather for Norman, Oklahoma, ahead of your visit. Don't worry about a school excuse note - it will be included in an email after the tour.

If the OU Norman campus closes for inclement weather, campus tours will also be cancelled. Note: we may not get much warning before this happens but will do our best to contact students via text, email, or phone call to let them know the tour has been cancelled. Campus Tours will happen rain or shine, cold or hot. If there is lightning within the area, we will keep guests indoors for 15-minutes after each lightning strike. If you feel uncomfortable touring on the day you scheduled because of weather, please call our office 405-325-2151 or email tour@ou.edu to reschedule for another day.

Add an academic tour or information session to your day to learn more about the major you are interested in and meet the program's staff and faculty members! To schedule an academic tour, you will first schedule a campus tour. You will then be able to add an academic tour. Please note, some tours are only offered on specific days of the week and some require students to call 405-325-2151 to schedule. Visit our website for more information.

You can also learn more about your interested academic area of interest by attending a virtual information session.

When students register for a campus tour, they are able to disclose if they, or their guest, will need any accommodations for their tour. (For example: wheelchair accessibility or sign-language interpreter). This allows us time to make the appropriate arrangements for the visit. If you need to request a specific accommodation after you have registered for a tour, please email tour@ou.edu.

If you register for and attend a campus visit with us, following your campus tour you will receive a school excuse note in your email. For any reason, if you do not receive the school excuse note in your email, you can email tour@ou.edu to request one. We are only able to provide school excuse notes to students who register for an event or tour with The Office of Admissions & Recruitment.
